Our therapy methods
Somatic and Mindfulness Therapies
Learning to notice and pay attention to internal experiences (thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, perceptions, and habits) without judgment can profoundly enhance the quality of life.
This form of therapy helps you develop skills to stay present, notice physical and emotional patterns, and navigate your mind and body with greater ease. By tuning into bodily sensations and nervous system responses, you can respond to internal experiences with less reactivity and more clarity.
This embodied awareness can reduce suffering, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen your ability to respond to stressful life events with resilience and balance.
Internal Family Systems
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a transformative approach that helps individuals understand and heal the different parts of themselves. Rooted in the idea that we all have an internal system of subpersonalities, including protectors, exiles, and a core Self, IFS fosters self-awareness, compassion, and emotional balance.
By gently exploring and unburdening wounded parts, clients can break free from patterns of fear, anxiety, or self-criticism and move toward inner harmony and healing. This evidence-based approach is effective for trauma, anxiety, shame, addiction, depression, and personal growth, empowering individuals to reconnect with their true Self.
Existential
This is a person centered type of therapy that focuses more on who you are as a human, rather than a particular pathology or symptom.
It emphasizes your ability to make rational decisions, and strive towards your maximum potential by focusing on free will, self determination, and a search for meaning.
Existential therapy can assist in increasing self awareness by asserting that each person has a unique identity that can be understood through relating with others. It normalizes anxiety by assuming that it is a natural element of the human condition.
There may be a focus on authenticity, self actualization, acceptance, and other life enhancing experiences.
ACT
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a really cool therapy; it asks clients to experience the world in a new and meaningful way.
Almost everything that makes life rich, full, and meaningful comes with a painful downside and the human mind has evolved in such a way that it naturally creates psychological suffering.
This therapy teaches us how to reduce the impact and influence of painful thoughts and feelings while simultaneously taking action to build a life that’s rich, full and meaningful through values-guided action.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy states that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are causally interrelated. Many problems stem from irrational, distorted, or dysfunctional ways of thinking and perceiving.
Many thought distortions are derived from schemas we develop from previous experiences. Personal schemata reflect our assumptions, attitudes, and beliefs about ourselves and the world around us and they manifest themselves in automatic self talk.
We can learn skills to address these belief systems and target negative self talk to enhance our ability to relate to others and function in our environments.
