My story
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from TCU and later a Master’s degree in Social Work from UTA. I became a social worker because I believe in the philosophy of meeting each person where they are, taking into account where they’ve been and where they want to go.
I worked in the hospice setting for 12 years, and even though I never had any intentions of working in that environment, I quickly realized it was a calling for me. It taught me a lot about people, and even more about life. Before hospice, I was a counselor on a hospital psychiatric unit, working with adults and adolescents leading group therapy and psychoeducation classes.
Personal growth is difficult and therapy can be an emotional rollercoaster, but it is absolutely worth it when you start seeing yourself respond better to your challenges. There’s nothing more rewarding than looking back and reflecting on progress made.
I’ve been on my own journey for quite some time now, and I know that I’m right where I need to be. This isn’t just a job for me, but something I’m meant to do.
I love what I do and want to support you in discovering your own path forward.
Melanie Lindsay, LCSW
“Melanie has a way of connecting that welcomes you and encourages you on your path to healing. I always leave the office feeling as though a weight has been lifted.”
“I have never felt like I have to hold back with Melanie. She creates a safe space where I can speak my truth and never feel judged. I can tell her anything.”
“I think that little by little I’ll be able to solve my problems and survive.”
